On Saturday, October 20th we will host the 9th Celebrating Whittier event at the Union Congregational Church on Pointe Shore starting at 5:30 p.m.

The program will feature actress Christine Remus, formerly with the Amesbury Cultural Council performing a portrayal of Susannah Martin of Amesbury who was hanged for a witch in 1692 in Salem, MA.  This incident was the basis for Whittier’s five part poem “Mabel Martin.”
