The Haverhill River Bards is pleased to host Guest Poet, Mary Buchinger on Friday, December 7th at Battlegrounds Coffee, 39 Washington St., Haverhill @ 7:00PM.

Mary Buchinger is author of three poetry books, einfühlung/in feeling(forthcoming), Aerialist (2015), and Roomful of Sparrows (2008), is President of the New England Poetry Club and Professor of English and Communication Studies at MCPHS University in Boston. Her work has appeared in AGNI, Gargoyle, Nimrod, Salamander, and elsewhere.

Please join us for this reading, followed by Open Mike.

NOTE:
This date is also the Annual Christmas Stroll in Haverhill's Historical Washington Street District, thus a great time to experience the City.

Amesbury Public Library Poetry Series
The poetry series and open mic at the Amesbury Public Library continues on Tuesday, October 30 from 6-7:30 PM. October's feature is Bangladesh Poet, Nausheen Eusuf.
The Amesbury Public Library, 149 Main St. hosts a monthly poetry series with an open mic.  Each month there is a featured poet followed by a discussion, an open mic and light refreshments. Stephen R. On Saturday, October 20th we will host the 9th Celebrating Whittier event at the Union Congregational Church on Pointe Shore starting at 5:30 p.m.

The program will feature actress Christine Remus, formerly with the Amesbury Cultural Council performing a portrayal of Susannah Martin of Amesbury who was hanged for a witch in 1692 in Salem, MA.  This incident was the basis for Whittier’s five part poem “Mabel Martin.”
